“Tau-Ken Samruk” invests in projects of junior companies from $5 to $100 million

“Tau-Ken Samruk” NMC is ready to invest in projects of junior companies operating in the mining and metallurgical sector of Kazakhstan. The head of the company Kanat Kudaibergen announced this during the Forum of Gold Producers in the framework of the International Mining and Metallurgical Congress.

“Tau-Ken Samruk” offers comprehensive one-window assistance to exploration-oriented junior companies. It is about financial, expert, marketing and government support in the framework of the company’s objectives to stimulate the development of the mining sector and the reproduction of the mineral resource base. It should be reminded that the junior company is a small company focused on projects of an early stage of development.

Tau-Ken Samruk”is ready to invest in projects from $5 to $100 million in exchange for a stake in the project. Financing is planned to be carried out at the expense of own funds of the National Company, private capital of strategic partners, or by attracting debt financing. Return of investments is planned to be obtained through the sale of a stake, an IPO or dividends,Kudaibergen said.

K. Kudaibergen also noted that the project selection mechanism would be as transparent as possible. After a detailed study of the optimal scheme of cooperation and business plan, “Tau-Ken Samruk”would accompany the exploration project to the planned stage: approval of reserves by JORC, completion of the feasibility study / BFS, or launch of production.

At the same time, the forum participants supported the initiative and noted, “Junior companies are the most successful in exploration and discovery of new deposits in the world practice and creating a comfortable environment for junior companies will help to realize the full potential of the industry”.
