Large-scale geologic exploration in the territory of four oblasts of Kazakhstan will begin by “Tau-Ken Samruk” National Mining Company. Geologic exploration project will be implemented in partnership withKazakhstan Fortescue.
Today, the owner-operator agreement is signed between “Tau-Ken Samruk” NMC JSC and Kazakhstan Fortescue LLP, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Australian listed mining company Fortescue Metals Group Ltd.
Prospecting workswill be performed over a total area of approximately18 000 km2 on the territory of Karaganda, Almaty, Aktobe and Kyzylorda regions.

Within the first year, Kazakhstan Fortescue will acquire and analysehistorical dataand perform a large-scale regional airborne geophysical survey to collect magnetic and gravity data.
The geophysical survey will be complemented with detailed structural and geological interpretation and mapping, as well as complex ground-based geophysical surveys and drilling to define and test prospective areas for mineralization in subsequent years.
