Tau-Ken Samruk NMC as part of the Kazakh delegation took part in the “Raw Materials Week” in Brussels. This traditional event annually gathers representatives of political and business communities to discuss the issues of availability of raw materials of the European Union countries. Marat Karabayev, the Vice Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, headed the Kazakh delegation and Rustem Makulbekov, the Chief Business Development Director, Acting CEO, represented the National Mining Company.
The delegation of Kazakhstan negotiated with representatives of the European Commission and the European Parliament on the prospects for cooperation in the field of raw materials supplies for the transition to “green” and digital technologies. In particular, a meaningful conversation took place with Kerstin Jorna, the Director General of the EC for Internal Market, Industry and Entrepreneurship. Details of the memorandum of understanding and strategic partnership in the field of sustainable raw materials, batteries and value chains of “green” hydrogen were discussed at the meeting, among other things.
