PwC traditionally makes an annual rating based on annual reports of companies, sustainability reports (and their analogues). Experts analyzed 98 companies operating in Kazakhstan. As explained in PwC, the ESG disclosure assessment methodology includes 76 criteria divided into 4 main blocks:
• sustainable development management,
• social policy,
• environmental impacts,
• corporate governance.
The PwC analysts note that the quality of reporting often correlates with the level of ESG integration into the company’s business.
