The XI International Mining and Metallurgical Congress “Astana Mining & Metallurgy” was held in Nur-Sultan. The main slogan of the Forum was the topic “Vectors of Growth of the Global Mining Industry in the context of a Pandemic”. The congress also hosted the II Forum of gold miners of Kazakhstan. The two-day congress program included sessions on new technologies and digital solutions, master classes on the development of new 4.0 industry competencies.
The challenges and prospects in domestic exploration were discussed at the panel session organized by MSA Minerals Consulting. The representatives of Kazakhstani and foreign companies discussed successful cases, problems and solutions.
Nurlan Itemgenov, Chief Business Officer of JSC NMC Tau-Ken Samruk, spoke about the main geological exploration projects of the company, focusing on cooperation with foreign partners, including Discovery Ventures Kazakhstan, Fortescue Kazakhstan and SH Minerals.
The industry award “Golden Hephaestus” is an integral part of “Astana Mining & Metallurgy”, this time Olesya Koksegenova, the Head of the central laboratory of the Tau-Ken Altyn refinery, became the nominee in the category “Women in MMC”.
