Representatives of the Board of Directors went down into the mine and personally communicated with specialists engaged in underground construction work for a detailed acquaintance with the progress of the lead-zinc mine construction. Orken Beisembayev, General Director of ShalkiyaZinc LTD, spoke about the status of the project, current problems and tasks.
As part of the contract with the mining contractor, mining and capital works in the amount of 67.5 thousand m3 have been completed to date, and a total of 88 thousand m3 is scheduled for 2022.
The competition for the selection of a contractor for the tail farm construction is completed. Tenders for the construction of the processing plant and mine surface facilities, held in accordance with the EBRD rules, will be finalized in 2023.
The design capacity of the Shalkiya MPP is 4 million tons of ore per year. The commissioning is planned in 2025. As previously reported, the expected annual tax deductions will amount to KZT20 billion.
