The AMM Congress brought together professionals from the mining and metallurgical industry, representatives of central and local government agencies, national and international companies, investment funds and heads of major enterprises.
This time 817 delegates from 13 countries visited the Congress (Austria, Bulgaria, Great Britain, Germany, Iran, Kazakhstan, Canada, Cameroon, Mongolia, Norway, Russia, South Africa and Ukraine). The main topics of the AMM-2022 discussions are the role of the MMC in the socio-economic life of the country, aspects of ESG, trends and challenges in the development of the precious metals industry, digital modernization, decarbonization, green metallurgy, issues of improving corporate culture and training professional personnel.
During the plenary session “The Role of MMC Enterprises in the Socio-Economic Life of the Country”, Yeraly Tugzhanov, the Deputy Prime Minister, noted the historical role of the mining and metallurgical complex in the development of the state and improving the welfare of ordinary Kazakhstanis, including more than 230 thousand people working in this sector.
A separate round table was devoted to innovative technologies and methods in geological exploration. Assel Rakhimova, the Chief Project Management Officer of JSC NMC Tau-Ken Samruk, made a report on the technology of preliminary enrichment and heap leaching of ore, which is innovative for tungsten deposits. The preliminary assessment of the innovative project shows an improvement in the economic indicators of the field development project and an increase in the recoverable reserves of the tungsten deposit by 48.7%. The introduction of these methods will provide technological advantages of the project over competing projects, contribute to a more comprehensive use of mineral resources, expand the range of commercial products produced from the resources of the Verkhneye Kairaktinskoye field, and, ultimately, the creation of highly profitable production with high added value.
