The construction of mining and processing plant producing the lead concentrate is being planned for the current year. In March 2014, the processing samples have been selected and 2.2 tons were delivered to JSC «Uralmekhanobr»(Russian Federation). As a result, the works in development of technological rules for enrichment have been completed. By the end of the previous year, the land allotment within the boundaries of “Mining lease” was registered and the Act for the right of temporary land use was received. Mining and preparation operations were conducted in the amount of 455.0 thousand m3. Also, the construction of road was completed, the road of category 5 from Kamkor village to Alaigyr deposit. The contract was signed for development of the following: Technological regulations for enrichment; Feasibility study of mining and processing plant; Construction project of mine and concentrator.
During the implementation of the projects of JSC «Tau-Ken Samruk», the specialists of Kazakhstan have been trained and will continue to work in production; the annual contributions to social and economic development of the region and the development of infrastructure, etc have been conducted.
The «Alaigyr» deposit, located in Karaganda region is one of the prior projects of JSC «Tau-Ken Samruk». It involves the extraction of polymetallic ores (silver, mercury, antimony, etc.), but the main mineral is lead. In 2013, the contract was signed between the Company and the Competent authoritiesto mine the ore in this deposit. As of January 1, 2011, the reserves approved by the State Commission for Mineral Reserves of the former Soviet Union was totaled 18.5 million tons at an average grade of 5.4% lead. It is expected that after launching the project, the production capacity for processing the ore will be about 900 thousand tons per annum.
