JSC NMC Tau-Ken Samruk informs on the start of the geological exploration in the Zhambyl, Karaganda and East Kazakhstan regions jointly with Discovery Ventures Kazakhstan LLP, Kazakhstan Junior Company.
The approximate term for the implementation of the exploration project is 6 years. Discovery Ventures Kazakhstan LLP will finance all exploration work at the first stage. The total area of the contract areas is about 1,500 km2. The operating agreement provides for the exploration of gold, copper, zinc and related metals.
“A very serious problem now is a significant drop in the rate of reproduction of the domestic mineral resource base. The lack of new deposits in Kazakhstan in the medium term may cause decline in the mining industry. Despite the relatively high degree of risk, we decided to enter geological exploration projects. This is a global trend, many large companies are following now this path”, – K.Kudaibergen, CEO, JSC NMC “Tau-Ken Samruk”, noted.
According to the companies, during the first year, they will be engaged in the collection and interpretation of historical data, geophysical research and geological mapping. The extensive aeromagnetic survey is planned across the entire licensed area. Then the geophysical survey data will be thoroughly analyzed to determine the amount of required exploration work in the coming years.
To recap, JSC NMC Tau-Ken Samruk implements a junior support program. Tau-Ken Samruk offers all-round assistance on the one-stop shop principle to junior companies focused on geological exploration. This refers to financial, expert, marketing and state support within the framework of tasks on stimulation of the development of the mining sector and the reproduction of the mineral resource base.
