Pilot tests have confirmed a significant improvement in the extraction of lead and silver as a result of the use of pneumatic flotation machines. In addition, the inclusion in the technological chain of ore pre-enrichment by XRT separation will reduce the volume of waste rock in the processed ore up to 40%.
To date, according to the project for the construction of an enrichment plant at the Alaigyr field, under the EPC contract (it is concluded in November 2020 with a consortium of domestic enterprises), the frame of the enrichment plant has been built and construction work on the tailings dam is underway. Since November 2021, the supply of technological equipment from the world’s leading manufacturers has begun. Crushing and flotation sites have been already partially completed, laboratory equipment has been supplied.
Two electrical substations, a 110 kV high-voltage line with a length of 142.5 km, 2 water intake wells, a railway dead end with a flotation concentrate warehouse, a production and administrative building were built and put into operation at the facility. The Feasibility Study according to the standards of the JORC 2012 Code has been completed.
Construction and installation works are carried out on infrastructure facilities, a fuel depot, a shift settlement, mining and preparatory work is in progress.
The launch of the MPP with a design capacity of 900 thousand tons of ore is scheduled for Q4 2022.
