Kazmedia Centre hosted a new format meeting that was dedicated to the activities of Tau-Ken Samruk National Mining Company as part of Samruk-Kazyna JSC program on new industries development.
The briefing was attended by local mass media representatives. Tau-Ken Samruk CEO Mazhit Turmagambetov and Co-Managing Director of New Industries Development, Samruk-Kazyna JSC, Yerzhan Tutkushev were the speakers.
During the briefing, hot topics that directly refer to the latest message of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstanhave been discussed. Opening speech was done by Mr. Y.Tutkushev. He reported about investments into developing new industries and companies.
“Six developing companies are included into Development Industries Cluster of Samruk-Kazyna JSC. Status of the developing companies is based on their growth rate. E.g., assets growth of Tau-Ken Samruk and United Сhemical Сompany is significantly higher than that of KazMunaiGas and KazakhstanTemirZholy. In other words,today developing companies take some 5%, and by 2021 they will take 11% in terms of assets quantity” Y.Tutkushev said.
In his speech, M. Turmagambetov explained the status of key projects, including two production ones: Tau-Ken Altyn LLP – gold refining, Tau-Ken Temir LLP – metallurgical silicon production, as well as three mining projects: Massalsky iron ore deposit and Shalkiya and Alaigyr polymetallic ores deposits.
Much attention was paid to creation of new jobs. Thus, accoring to M.Turmagambetov, totally, about 6,500 jobs will be opened and additional 23,000 ones will be created due to multiplying effect. Anticipated annual country’s GDP from operating enterprises will come to 457.2 billion tenge.
During the briefing, Mr. M.Turmagambetov told about plans to establish Research and Development Centre based on international standards, where laboratory and pilot tests of mineral processing for both the company’s deposits and overall country’s mining industry will be performed based on best world practices, technologies and equipment.
Many companies and organizations expressed their concern in RDC, among them: Outotec, SGC, ALEX STEWART, ALS, ERG, Kazzinc LLP, Kazakh National Research Technical University JSC, Eurasian University after L.Gumilyov. Out of the specified partners, Nazarbayev University was designated to prepare Feasibility Study and to perform tasks set by the Head of State.
According to Turmagambetov, new RDC will enable the Company, Fund’s subsidiaries, Research Institutions, Universities and Colleges, and many other mining and metallurgical companies:
– based on the international standards to perform laboratory and pilot tests covering the entire mining and metallurgical process flow;
– to develop large deposits of low-grade and refractory ores;
– to develop scientific, innovative and technological and personnel potential;
– to create Competence Centre;
– to develop new innovation technologies;
– considerably to speed up commissioning of new deposits, from extraction to end product output.
