Today, a press briefing by Gibrat Auganov, Managing Director of the Fund for Public Relations, Social and Labor Relations and Occupational Safety, was held at Samruk-Kazyna. He spoke in detail about the work done in these areas for 9 months.
Employment and new requirements
According to the manager, the new principles of Samruk-Kazyna work in these areas are openness and transparency. For example, in the field of employment, all vacancies of the Fund’s group of companies are displayed on a single open recruitment portal Samruk-Qyzmet. The primary selection of candidates there is automated, which eliminates the human factor and corruption. Since the launch, more than 20 thousand vacancies have been published on the portal. More than 7 thousand people got a job. Now more than 123 thousand applicants are registered on Samruk-Qyzmet, which indicates the high interest of Kazakhstanis in the Samruk-Kazyna group of companies as the largest employer in the country. In addition, the requirements for future directors have been strengthened. Now compliance officers to prevent affiliation and corruption check all candidates for the posts of first managers, managing directors and heads of subdivisions of Samruk-Kazyna companies. An additional lie detector test has been introduced for future purchasing managers. Such tests have already been conducted for 96 candidates from 38 companies of the Samruk-Kazyna group.
18 candidates have failed the test and have not been hired. The well-being of employees is the highest value, Samruk-Kazyna pays primary attention to the preservation of the life and health of employees. The year 2022 has been declared the Year of Occupational Safety and Health in the group of Companies. The Fund was the first in Kazakhstan to introduce the Vision Zero international principles of industrial safety into production. Employees are trained according to foreign methods, Kazakh experts are trained in the field of occupational safety, and industrial facilities are audited. These efforts have already yielded concrete results. Since the beginning of the year, the number of accidents has decreased by 10% compared to the same period in 2021. Each such incident is under the personal control of the management of Samruk-Kazyna. Most of them occur in the companies KTZh, Samruk Energy and KazMunayGas. In May, the heads of each of the companies of the Samruk-Kazyna Group publicly assumed personal obligations to protect the life and health of employees. Samruk-Kazyna also monitors the morale of labor collectives. Work is underway to improve working conditions, increase salaries, prevent conflicts, including between employees and management. The Fund has created a round-the-clock call center “Nysana”, where employees can file complaints about social and labor relations.
Openness to society and the media
For greater transparency, the Fund’s openness to society and the media has been strengthened. Open meetings of the Public Council are held regularly, where the work of Samruk-Kazyna and portfolio companies is openly discussed. The heads of the Fund and portfolio companies hold press briefings, where they answer any questions from the media and the public. Samruk-Kazyna actively talks about its work in social networks, including in the telegram channel @samrukazynaofficial. Another new form of interaction with society is open meetings with citizens as part of the IPO campaign. In September, representatives of the Fund and experts traveled all over Kazakhstan and held more than 130 seminars with residents of cities and villages about the placement of shares of KazMunayGas. Thousands of people attended these meetings. The Samruk-Kazyna Fund is ready to strengthen further the transparency of its activities in order to work and develop in harmony with society.
