30 tons of gold was produced by the Tau-Ken Altyn refinery following the 12 months of this year, according to JSC NCM Tau-Ken Samruk. Thus, with the design capacity of 25 tons, the plant exceeded the annual production plan by 20%.
Tau-Ken Altyn was commissioned in November 2013 and carries out activities for the processing of gold-bearing raw materials (cathode and placer gold, jewelry and technical scrap, Dore alloy).
Since the beginning of the plant’s operation, more than 128 tons of gold have been produced. The bulk of the plant’s production is provided for replenishment of the country’s gold and foreign exchange reserve.
“Further development of the plant provides for increase in the volume of gold production, automation of processes in order to account for the movement of precious metals, as well as the processing of solid industrial waste and decrease in work in progress”, – Kanat Kudaibergen, CEO of JSC NMC Tau-Ken Samruk, said.
To recap, the strategic importance of own refining production was noted by Nursultan Nazarbayev, the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Yelbasy.
