Launch of the furnace was produced with the participation of Chairman of the Board of Directors of JSC «Tau-Ken Samruk» K.Bektemirov and Chairman of the Management Board of JSC «Tau-Ken Samruk» M.Turmagambetov.
As a reminder, after a year of inactivity in 2013, the plant was handed over to the management of JSC «Tau-Ken Samruk». In December of the same year at the meeting of the Board for the mining industry, geology and subsoil use of solid minerals at the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, JSC «Tau-Ken Samruk» was entrusted with the technical audit of production facilities, development of measures to rebuild and start silicon production.
After maintenance operations and technical audit, and partial repair of the furnace №1 in October 2014, the plant was again put into operation. The jobs were created again. The capital repair works of furnace №2 were started in the same year. For professional maintenance operations during start-up and commissioning of the furnace there involved the equipment manufacturers with a global brand «SMS group GmbH», carrying out consulting works on drying, heating, selection of the charge and the further operation of the furnace.
The full cycle of maintenance operations for plant rehabilitation was completed as a result of launching the second furnace. Currently, the enterprise for the production of metallurgical silicon reached a total production capacity.
During the visit to the plant, the management of JSC «Tau-Ken Samruk» got acquainted with the production process of the enterprise, the quality of the supplied raw material, and the storage warehouse for products. Also as part of the visit, the meetings were held with local authorities, where the issues were discussed relating to the infrastructure of the plant and Aktas deposit.
ReferenceLLP «Tau-Ken Temir» is a subsidiary of JSC «Tau-Ken Samruk». The design capacity of the plant is 25 thousand tons of metallurgical silicon per annum. The quartz of Aktas deposit is used as the main raw materials. The plant produces silicon of high marks: «two» and «three». Products are exported to countries near and far abroad, particularly to the United States, Russia, Germany, Denmark, the Netherlands, Norway and other countries.
During the period from October 2014 to September 2015, the plant produced 7,000 tons of metallurgical silicon.
