The drilling has confirmed the reserves of tungsten and molybdenum at the North Katpar deposits in Karaganda region.
According to Tau-Ken Samruk, the reserves total some 90 thousand tons of tungsten and 13 thousand tons of molybdenum.
The main difficulty with the development of the deposit is the lack of processing techniques in Kazakhstan. So far the country has prospected around 12 tungsten deposits with the combined reserves of 2 million tons of tungsten trioxide. The North Katpar is one of the largest.
