In October of the current year in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia there held the world championship in arm wrestling. This is the 37th World Championship, which is held under the auspices of the World Armwrestling Federation. The best arm wrestlers from around the world participated in the hard battle for the gold medal. Over 800 arm wrestlers from 48 countries participated in the 37th championship. At the end of the World Championship Alizhan Muratov (in the weight category up to 80 kg.) and Erkin Alimzhanov (in the weight category over 80 kg.) became world champions.
It is to be recalled that in September 2015 in the Olympics among the employees of the group of companies of JSC «Samruk-Kazyna», our employees have shown the best results in arm wrestling. So Alizhan Muratov in the weight category ranked the first place, and Erkin Alimzhanov held the second place. This victory inspired our athletes in taking part in the World Championships.
Both champion joined the team of Kazakhstan, which ranked second in the world championship. First place was for Russia, and the third place for Georgia. As our champions told, the fight for «gold» was not easy, but it was worth to present the anthem and flag of Kazakhstan in the global arena!
