The Tau-Ken Altyn refining plant has produced the 30 000th gold bar. In total, since its launch in December 2013, the company has refined about 360 tons of gold. The National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan is the main purchaser.
Tau-Ken Altyn is the only metallurgical plant in Astana. Since its commissioning in December 2013, the company has been steadily increasing its production volumes. For example, last year the plant refined 54.6 tons of gold, which is more than 2 times higher than the design indicators.
“Our products, which meet international quality standards, make a great contribution to the economic sovereignty of Kazakhstan. The 30 000th gold ingot is an important milestone in the history of the plant and an indicator of stable and effective work to ensure the country’s gold and foreign exchange reserves,” Arnur Aidarkhanov, the Director of Tau-Ken Altyn LLP said.
The electrochemical refining method used at the plant ensures a purity of at least 99.99% of the finished product, while FLAMELESS TUNNEL furnaces and ALS Acidless Separation silver vacuum distillation technology ensure environmental safety. Tau-Ken Altyn is certified according to the ISO 9001 (quality management system), ISO 14001 (environmental management) and ISO 45001 (occupational health and safety) international standards. The plant employs 80 persons, 61 of whom are production personnel.
Tau-Ken Altyn LLP is a 100% subsidiary of JSC NMC Tau-Ken Samruk. In 2019, Tau-Ken Altyn received the international Good Delivery certification from the London Bullion Market Association (LBMA). The plant produces standard and weighted ingots and granules of gold and silver. In 2023, a waste recycling plant with a capacity of up to 15 tons was launched. The enterprise staff amounts to 80 employees, 61 of whom are production personnel.
